what is the difference between the two sentence- I am going to school and I am going to the school.......​

If someone says "I'm going to school "they are usually talking about actual school classes (not just the building).

I'm going to school can also refer to someone 's current status as a student ,even if they are not physically going to school at the moment.

If someone says ,I'm going to the school "they usually mean they are heading to the school building .Normally the would only says this were classes are not currently meeting .
