Theropods literally means beast footed.
They were the kind of dinosaurs whose foots were large and terribly designed, they were mainly non vegetarian dinosaur. EG:Tyrannosaurus rex, velociraptor etc.
Sauropoda were the types of dinosaurs whoes neck were very long and legs were elephant like EG:diplodocus, titanosaur.
