  1. The most abundant gases in both the stratosphere and troposphere are molecular oxygen and nitrogen.
  2. Both the stratosphere and troposphere blanket the whole Earth.
  3. Both the stratosphere and troposphere warm up during the day and cool down at night.

Both the stratosphere and troposphere are transparent at visible wavelengths. The proof is that on a clear night neither the troposphere nor the stratosphere obstruct our view of the stars, and on a clear day they don’t block our view of the sun.
