what is the difference between un monocot and dicot

In fact, monocots differ from dicots in four structural features: their leaves, stems, roots and flowers. Within the seed lies the plant's embryo; it is here that the firstdifference between the two types can be seen. Whereas monocots have one cotyledon (vein), dicots have two.

monocots have single cotyledons.example is garlic, onions, corn. the stem and vascular bundles are scattered in monocots.the flowers of monocots have petals in multiples of three.

dicots have two cotyledons. example is tomatoes,potatoes. the vascular bundles form ring structures.the flowers of dicots have petals in multiple of 4 or 5.
