what is the difference between vector ans scalar quantities

Scalar quantites represents just the magnitude of a physical quantity.while vector quantites represent both magnitude as well as direction and are represented by an arrow head over the symbol.

vector quantities are those which have bot magnitude and direction.e x-velocity,displacement
while scalar quantities are those which does only direction .ex-speed
