voter means who votes the candidate
election means a formal and organized by vote of a person for a political officer or other position

Electon is a process consisting of several acts while voting is a single act.Election is wider which include voting.Further,the process of election can be completed without voting when number of vacancies is the same as the number of condidates left in the fray. 

A candidate is said to be elected unopposed when he is elected without voting in circumstances stated above.There are varities of ways to complete voting.Voting can be through secret ballot electronic ballot or show of hands or voice votes etc
