XYLEM :.1) This tissue contains xylem vessels, tracheids.

2) It helps in the transportation of water from the soil to the roots and to the leaves of the plant.

3) Its movement of water is only in upward direction.

4) the cells of this tissue are dead and works on the principle transpiration.

PHLOEM : 1)it contains phloem vessels and companion cells.

2) It transports food and water to all parts of the plant.

3) its transportation is in all direstions.

4) the cells of the this tissue are alive and and consume some energy.
