“Dissolution” is merely the solution of a substance with water. In Dissolution the slight overall electric polarity of the H2O molecule is enough to pull apart (i.e. “dissolve”) the ions of the solute.

Hydrolysis is the chemical breakdown of a compound due to reaction with water. Dissolution is a process by which the original states of matter turn into a liquid or other solvent and become solutes - dissolvedcomponents.
