why does virus live on host cells please help me with answers

BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT CELLULAR ORGANISMS ,AND THEY CANNOT UNDERGO REPRODUCTION .THAT'S WHY THEY LIVE AS HOST AND ALSO OBTAIN THEIR NUTRITION.

In this case, host cells include bacteria, plant cells, and animal cells. Outside of a host cell, viruses cannot function.That is why virus live on host cells.However, they need to be inside a host cell to replicate.
