RANCID:-

  • The word rancid states that a food tasting and smelling bad or as a result of being stale.

RANCIDITY:-

  • When a food material containing oil and fats is left open for some time, it develops a bad taste and smell (rancid). The presence of oils and fats in such food causes it to get oxidized by the oxygen in the air. This phenomenon is called rancidity.
