High pressure conditions in the Indian mainland attracts the South East Trade winds in the southern Hemisphere(winds always blow from high pressure areas to low pressure areas). These winds while crossing Equator gets deflected towards their right because of the Coriolis Effect and reach western coast of India as South west Monsoon winds. Thus, the Summer Monsoon winds blow from South Western direction in the Northern Hemisphere.
