What is the distance between two paralle tangent of a circle having radius 4.5 ? Justify ypir answer

Two tangents to a circle are parallel only when they touch the circle at diametrically opposite points. See attachment.

So the distance between them is same as the diameter.

Radius = 4.5 units.

Diameter = 2 × radius = 2×4.5 = 9 units

So the distance between the tangents is 9 units.
