Let O(0,0) be the origin and P(x,y) is the point.

Thus distance using distance formula comes
out to be...

 \sqrt{( {0 - x)}^{2}  +  ({0 - y})^{2} }  \\  =  \sqrt{ {x}^{2} +  {y}^{2}  }
