Vasectomy is basically removal ( ectomy - removal) of this vas deferens which renders the male sterile. Tubectomy is the sterilization done in females. Here a part of fallopian tubes (where fertilization of sperm and ovum takes place) is removed and the rest of it is tied.

Vasectomy is a surgical procedure for male sterilization or permanent contraception. whereas
Tubectonomy is surgical procedure for sterilization in which a woman's fallopian tubes are clamped and blocked, or severed and sealed, either method of which prevents eggs from reaching the uterus for fertilization. Tubal ligation is considered a permanent method of sterilization and birth control.
