Betwa River covers Vidisha District, Bhojpur and Jhansi and finally flows into the Yamuna near Hamirpur in Uttar Pradesh. Son River, originating from the northeast facing slope of the Amarkantak Hill, flows towards northeast before merging with the Ganges near Patna. It is around 780 km long.

Drainage pattern is the pattern formed by the streams, rivers, and lakes in a particular drainage basin. ... A drainage basin is the topographic region from which a stream receives runoff, throughflow, and groundwater flow. Drainage basins are divided from each other by topographic barriers called a watershed.
