An eclipse is an astronomical event that occurs when an astronomical object is temporarily obscured, by passing into the shadow of another body or by having another body pass between it and the viewer. An eclipse takes place when one heavenly body such as a moon or planet moves into the shadow of another heavenly body.

There are two types of eclipses on Earth: an eclipse of the moon and an eclipse of the sun.

Eclipse of the Moon is called Lunar eclipse.

Eclipse of the Sun is called Solar Eclipse.

And the latest solar eclipse occurred today....

Hope it helps...and if it did....please mark as brainliest
