Agriculture was a key element of the 'traditional' bio-economy, and fermentation has had an important role on the traditional bio-economy. It has been used to produce wine, beer, and cider; to create leaven bread and lactic acid to preserve; and to produce sausages or yogurt .

Fermentation is a biochemical process which mainly occurs in various biological substances by different bacterias,yeasts and fungus.

In this fermentation process the bacterias,yeasts mainly break downs different chemical compounds by different biological metabolic processes.

This fermentation process is also used different industries such as yoghurt production, alcohol production etc.

In this way the fermentation process is economically important.
