Taj Mahal is in Agra, one of the oldest heritage of our country and one of the seven wonders of the world. When the moisture in the cloud reacts with sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxide, it forms acid rain. The marble is a calcium carbonate stone. The sulphur and nitrogen in acid rain react with calcium carbonate and changes the milk-white colour of the marble stone to yellowish colour. This acid rain is mainly because of the pollution in the air.
