Misuse and abuse of landforms result in man-made disasters like flash floods, drought, landslides and pollution.

Removing sand from river bed results in deep pits and pockets where unwary people drown. Quarrying and reshaping of landforms can result in deadly landslides and flash floods. Deforestation is one major reason for soil erosion, drought and flood waters entering areas of human habitat.

Illegal and uncontrolled mining results in loss of forests and fertile agricultural land. It also causes severe pollution.
