Roman government system was the father of political theory in ancient times.   Karl Marx advocated communism which meant rule of the common masses and community owned resources.   On the opposite direction capitalism started in developed countries where majority of wealth was concentrated in a few people.   Socialism was adopted later on which was a mixture of capitalism and communism. Here both capitalist and communist forces existed.  Modern day countries are practicing democracy as the most popular theory in politics.
