What is the effect on litmus if it is introduced in pure water?

Anonymous: Pure water is neutral. It is not acidic or basic. so there is no change of color.

Thank you for the question!
When the litmus paper is dipped into water it remains colorless because water is neither acidic nor alkaline. Litmus paper will turn from blue to red when dipped in acidic solution similarly it will change from red to blue when dipped in alkaline solution.
Hope it helps.
