mass of metal oxide= MO = 27

mass of metal hydride = MH = ?

mass of metal oxide = M +O =27

                                    M + 16 = 27

                                    M = 27-16

                               M = 11

From this we can conclude that the metal M is Boron B which has atomic mass 11 and oxide is BH3.

thus equivalent weight of BH3 is:

B + 3(H) = ?

11+3(1)=14

thus the equivalent weight of BH3 is 14.
