Answer:  Potassium hydroxide is used for showing the use of CO2 by the plants in photosynthesis.

Experiment : So, two healthy plants are taken and covered with two separate bell jars; one with some Potassium hydroxide in a glass plate and the other without the Potassium hydroxide.

Potassium hydroxide absorbs the Carbon dioxide released due to the respiration of the plant; thus that plant does not get any carbon dioxide that is essential for photosynthesis, resulting in less starch in the leaves.

On the contrary, starch will be more in the leaves of the plant without Potassium hydroxide.

Hopes it is okk.......
