Explanation of the poem Indian weavers by sarojini naidu:

The poem praises the weavers of India while depicting the three stages of life.

The birth Stage: This is the young beauty of the life depicted through the perspective of the weavers. She says phrases like the break of the day or blue as wing of halcyon wild which emphasises the bright and vibrant phases of life. These phrases depict its true beauty and assures us that after a while, it’s all worth it.

In the second stanza, we focus on the growing up aspect. She says that they weave garments purple and green which signifies the blooming that has happened. This is the most significant stage of life where humans spend their emotions and get married. This explains the phrase, "the marriage veils of the queen". The colors purple and green signify the different feelings that a human endures and the contrast there might be between those feelings.

In the final stanza, death has been portrayed. The moonlight chill represents the harshness and the eerie beauty of it. "White as a feather, white as a cloud", white being the colour used to signify the empty void which enters into the lives during this stage. It’s chilling yet calming & soothing. Funeral shroud is the literal and metaphorical meaning of this entire stanza where now a human has lived his life and he must rest for everything that has gone white.
