What is the formula for calculating resistance when cells are in series or parallel?

Formula of calculating resistance doesn't depends on the cells connection

For calculating resistance if resistors are in series is simple add the resistance of each resistor

For calculating resistance if resistor are in parallel then

1/R +1/r is equal to reciprocal of equivalent resistance
