When ammonia solution (NH4OH) is passed through FeCl3 solution, the brown precipitate obtained is of ferric hydroxide or Fe(OH)3.
Reaction is:
FeCl3 + 3NH4OH ------> Fe(OH)3 + 3NH4Cl
Thanks!
