What is the function of contractile vacuole in amoeba?

The contractile vacuole is basically a water bubble within the endoplasm of A. proteus. It's function is to regulate the water content of the cell. It is also a means of excreeting its waste from the cell (out through the cell membrane) .

Contractile vacuoles checks the sufficient the water content present in the cell. It means of excreting its waste can be water or any food material from the cell i.e out through the cell membrane..
