what is the function of parenchyma collenchyma and sclerenchyma

Par enchymal=it stores nutrients and water. Collenchyma=it provides flexibility to plants. Sclerenchyma=it is the tissue which makes the plant hard and stiff

functins of parenchyma:-

1. Food storage,the cells in a potato tuber,for e.g ,are parenchymatous cells filled with starch,particularly in the leaves.
2.Chlorenchyma (parenchyma cells containing chlorophyll) helps in photosynthsis and thereby in manufacture of starch.
3.waste products such as tannin,gum,crystals,etc are stored in parenchyma

functions of collenchyma:-

1.collenchyma is mainly a mechanical tissue and provides mechanical strength and elasticity to the growing stems.as a result ,the stems can stand bending by wind or passing animals.

2.collenchyma is also the supporting tissue of leaves.

function of sclerenchyma:-

1.sclerenchyma is a mechanical and protective tissue.
