Trusteeship Council

• The Trusteeship Council  was established in 1945 to help the countries which were under colonial power. It helped countries to form self-goverment. The trusteeship council is not functioning anymore but it used to take care of 11 countries who were not independent.

• Trusteeship council was one of the organs of the United Nations responsible for ensuring administration of trust territories.

• The purpose of the organ was basically to promote educational, social advancement of the inhabitants of the trust territories and to oversee their decolonization.
