Function of veins

Veins provide support for the leaf and transport both water and minerals (via xylem) and food energy (via phloem) through the leaf and on to the rest of the plant..

Hope this helped...

the leaf blade is supported by the veins and veinlets . the veins provide rigidity and strength to the leaf blade and also at as a channel for transportation of water , minerals, and food materials. and arrangement of these in leaf is known as venation.
