❂EPIDERMIS : epidermis is the outermost layer of the plant organs. for example= leaves, stem, flowers and roots. it is usually single layered.
✯IT's FUNCTIONS :
➊. it provides protection to the plant and prevents the cell from damage and infection.
➋. it prevents loss of water (by evaporation) due to the presence of cuticle and prevents desiccation.
➌. it helps in exchange of gases through stomata and keeps the plant part cool by loss of water through transpiration.
➍. it absorbs water and Minerals with the help of root hair.
