When kidneys are incapable of purifying blood, then it is done artificially with machines this process is known as heamodylasis.
in certain cases kidneys can no more function properly to purify blood. Purification of blood is needed to remove toxic substances from blood whose accumulation can cause serious illness and even death. Therefore it is done artificially until a kidney donor is not found.
The blood is removed from body and filtered in a man made machine called dialyzer. it it then returned in the body.
Heamodylasis can let a person live for 20 to 25 years more.
