Smallest prime number=2
Smallest composite number=4
HCF of (2and 4)= 2

•Smallest prime number = 2

•Smallest composite number =4.

•2= 2*1
•4=2*2*1

•Hence HCF (Highest Common Factor) of 2 and 4 is the number / factor which is common between both numbers .

•Here 2 and 1 are common factors/ numbers between 2 and 4.

•Thus HCF of 2 and 4 is 2.
