The Heiroglyphic script was first deciphered by champollian, a French scholar. He had Accompanied the french ruler Napoleaon when the latter conquered Egypt in 1798.The script was engraved on a a stone (Rosseta) near of the river Nile. The script could only be deciphered after much patient labour.
