In 9th December 1946, the first meeting of the constitution assembly was held in the constitution hall ( now it held in the central central Hall of the Parliament House.). Demanding separate state ,the Muslim League
boycotted the meeting.
Sachchidananda Sinha was elected the temporary president of the assembly, in accordance with French practice.
