The atmosphere is very important as in the atmosphere gases such as oxygen and carbon dioxide are present which are necessary for the survival of human beings and plants and animals. We all know that the plants are known as food producers ,and they make thier food with the help of carbon dioxide so if there is no atmosphere there would be no food. I hope it helps you.

Importance of Atmosphere:

  • Protects Earth from cosmic rays.
  • Acts as a barrier to protect Earth from the meteors.
  • Radio communication is possible as the upper layers of the atmosphere stop sound waves from escaping into the space.
  • Balances temperature & makes life possible & habitable. Example: Sun’s energy available in the tropical regions in large amount is carried to the colder regions thus reducing the temperature differences between various parts of the earth.
  • All the phenomenon like precipitation, winds, evaporation, etc, concerning weather and climate occurs in the atmosphere.
  • Without it life is not possible.
