Problems faced by Indian railways are:

(i) It lacks repair and maintenance of tracks and bridges.

(ii) India as the railways operation is on their gauges and shift from gauge to another is a problem.

(iii) Rail traffic has increased and the old tracks are not able to carry the increased load and accidents are frequent.

Importance of Railways:

1)Railways carry people and goods over long distance

2) The railways are giving largest income to the government.

3)The Indian Railways is the largest employer, largest network.

Three major problems are:

1)Many people travel without tickets.

2)Old tracks cause many serious railway accidents.

3). The railways are attacked during the time of disturbances and violence's that arise in any part of the country and damage railway properties.
