The reactions of metals with oxygen,water, acids and other metal compounds can be used to produce a 'Metal Reactivity Series' from the least to the most reactive. The relative reactivity is important when considering the uses of metals, especially when they are exposed to conditions where they may corrode.

with the help of reactivity series we can easily identify which substance is more reactive and less reactive. The element in which there are free electrons in the outermost shell they are known as more reactive & the element in which there are not free electrons in the outermost shell they are known as less reactive elements
