A country may have many longitudes in between and there is a time gap of 4 minutes between each longitude.example:the time gap between western part of gujarat and eastern parts of arunachal pradesh is 2 hours, so there is lot of confusion in whole country..therefore standard meridian should be there in each country for the equal time.
