What is the Indian Standard Time ? Why is there a time difference of almost 2 hours from Arunanchal Pradesh to Gujarat?

the IST is 5:30hrs . there is a difference of 2hrs from arunachal Pradesh to Gujarat since on passing every 1 degree of longitude, there is a change of 4 min. thus, by adding all the 4 min changes on the way of reaching Gujarat from arunachal Pradesh or vice-versa, we get a total of 2 hrs. hope this may help!!!
