The inner core of the Earth is composed of iron.

  • The core lies between the Mantle and around the center of the earth. The core is divided into two parts the inner and outer core.
  • The inner core of the earth is 1200km thick. It is hotter than the outer core and remains solid.
  • The dominant minerals in the inner core is Nickel and Iron this is the reason it is also called 'nife' ['ni' is nickel and 'Fe' is iron]
