Given - EMF of battery - 12 Volts

Voltage - 8.4 Volts

Current drawn - 95 Ampere.

Find - Internal resistance of battery of car and resistance of starter.

Solution - The internal resistance of battery can be calculated by the formula - E = V + Ir. In the formula, E represents EMF, V represents voltage, I represents current and r represents internal resistance.

Keeping the values in equation-

r = (E - V)/I

r = (12-8.4)/95

r = 0.038 ohms

Further, resistance of starter will be calculated as - R = V/I

R = 8.4/95

R = 0.09 ohms.

Thus, internal resistance and resistance are 0.038 ohms and 0.09 ohms respectively.
