Intermetallics are formed when there is a very strong affinity between two different metals so that they combine in a fixed ratio to form a structure that is different than the parent crystals and have different melting points (usually higher) than expected. For example : Ni3Al.

⭕ IUPAC is the system which is given name of the organic compounds, ionic compounds and inorganic compounds. Bt there is something vague for the intermetallic compounds beacuse they are form with the reaction of two metals and form a new compounds which was changing with the particular temperature and pressure. so it is not generally accepted that the IUPAC nomenclature for the intermetallic compounds.
