What is the last word of Keesh? Why did it require dignity and manhood to speak out?

These are the last words of Keesh:

" It is not for a boy to know about witches, and I know nothing about witches. I only have means whereby I may kill an ice-bear with ease, that's all. It  would be headcraft, not witchcraft".

I have dignity because it was one of the proud of keesh and he needs to be strong for his family and group.

The words of Keesh make those elder hunters to dislike him. They thought that this boy talks like a grown man, and said harsh things on their faces.

Keesh said that he did not perform any witchcraft but he has used his brain to hunt down the polar bear.

The people of tribe did not believe

that a thirteen year old boy Keesh cannot hunt down a big polar bear. They accused him and his mother of witchcraft. Therefore Keesh told them that he used to give meatball covered with ice to Bear before hunting it.Therefore when it was sick then Keesh hunted it.When tribepeople heard the story that felt guilty and made Keesh their leader.Keesh got the biggest iglooo and lots of food.
