The latent heat of vaporization of water is approximately 2,260kJ/kg.
1 calorie = 4.186 J. Latent heat of vaporization of water = 539 cal/g = 2256 kJ/kg. Latent heat of fusion of water = 79.5 cal/g = 333 kJ/kg. Specific heat of water = 1 cal/g = 4.19 kJ/kg.
hope this helps

There are two latent heats:

1) Latent heat of fusion

2) Latent heat of vaporisation

Energy absorbed during the process of change from liquid to gas is called as latent heat of vaporisation. As we all know, at zero-degree Celsius ice starts to melt and it gets converted into liquid form but has latent heat of fusion also at that temperature. And heat of vaporisation at 100 degrees Celsius is 2230 KJ/Kg.
