The solution to this question is pretty easy first of all we have to see how many identical pieces are required.

We have to factorise 100 and we know 100  = 2 * 5 * 5 * 2.

Now from the factors itself we can see (4-1) i.e. one less than daigonals cuts vertically are  possible, (5-1) i.e. one less than sides cuts are possible from top and (5 - 1) cuts are possible horizontally therefore (3+3+4) which gives 11 cuts therefore the least number of cuts required is 11 cuts.
