Question :- What is the least number of saplings that can be arranged in rows of 12,15 or 40 in each row ?

a) 60

b) 4.

c) 120

d) 240

Solution :-

To find the Least number of saplings we have to find the LCM of the given rows 12, 15 and 40.

Prime Factors of 12 , 15 and 40 :-

→ 12 = 2 * 2 * 3 = 2² * 3

→ 15 = 3 * 5

→ 40 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 5 = * 5

(Taking Highest Powers).

→ LCM = 2³ * 3 * 5 = 8 * 3 * 5 = 120 . (Ans.)

Therefore, least number of saplings that can be arranged in given rows are 120.
