Q.What is the least number of square tiles required to pave the floor of a room 15m 17m long 9cm 2cm broad?

Solve:-

lenght \: of \: the \: room \: is \: = = 15 \: m \: 17 \: cm \: \\ = 15 \times 100 +17 = 1517 \: cm \\ \: \\ Breadth \: of \: the \: room = 9 m \times 100 \: + 2 cm \: \\ = \: 902 cm. \\ \\ now \\ \\ take \: the \: HCF\: of \: 1517 \: and \: 902 \: will \: be \: a \: size \: of \\ square \: tiles \: \\ \\ HCF \: 1517 \: and \: 902 = 41 cm. \\ \\ Area \: of \: the \: room = l \times b \\ = 1517 \times 902 \: cm ^{2} \\ \\ Area \: of \: tiles \: = 41 \times 41 cm ^{2} \\ So, \\ no. \: of \: tile \: required = \frac{1517 \times 902}{41 \times 41} = 814 \: tiles
