===================================

aim :  What is the least Number that should be added to the smallest 6-digit number to make it a perfect square.

=>
 smallest 6-digit number = 100000

=>now let us find the root of 100000

=>√100000 = 316 . 227.........

now let us round of  316 . 227 to the next perfect square

=>317 [approx]

now,

=>317² = 317 ×317

=>100489

so the perfecst square after 100000 is 100489

=>so the least Number that should be added to the smallest 6-digit number to make it a perfect square ,

=>100489 -100000

=>489

∴option (c) is the correct answer
