First we calculate the total sheet area required to make the tank . Now as it is " open " tank so we calculate the " lateral " surface area " plus " the area of it's base which is there in the questions but not included in lateral surface area. So , total area of tank
l = 15m , b = 10m , h = 5m
= " lateral area " + " area of base "
= 2h(l+b) + (l*b)
= (2*5)(15+10) + (15*10)
= 400 m2
Now , we are given a sheet with known length 2metre so , we just have to find out the breadth of the sheet to make it a total 400m2 in area to make the tank .
Length Of Sheet
= area required / breadth of Sheet
= 400 / 2
= 200 m
l = 15m , b = 10m , h = 5m
= " lateral area " + " area of base "
= 2h(l+b) + (l*b)
= (2*5)(15+10) + (15*10)
= 400 m2
Now , we are given a sheet with known length 2metre so , we just have to find out the breadth of the sheet to make it a total 400m2 in area to make the tank .
Length Of Sheet
= area required / breadth of Sheet
= 400 / 2
= 200 m
